Cookie Policy
SMARTCABPRO LLC · Version 1.1 · Effective September 12, 2026 (v1.1 lists what our apps store on your device, confirms we use no analytics or advertising cookies, and names the outside services involved)
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites and web applications function properly, remember your preferences, and stay secure.
Websites and apps can also keep small pieces of information on your device using "local storage" and similar browser storage. This Cookie Policy covers cookies and this kind of device storage, on SmartCabPro websites, in our web applications, and inside the iPhone and Android apps (which show some of their screens through a built-in web view).
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies and device storage only to:
- keep users signed in;
- remember preferences;
- maintain security;
- detect fraud and misuse;
- remember language and display settings;
- make the apps work, for example keeping a driver's phone linked to its car.
SmartCabPro does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools. If we ever decide to add any of these, we will update this Cookie Policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
3. Types of Cookies
SmartCabPro uses only these types:
- Strictly necessary — sign-in (authentication) and security. The services do not work without them.
- Preference storage — settings you choose, such as language, theme, and saved addresses.
We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.
3A. What Our Apps Store on Your Device
The list below shows the kinds of information each SmartCabPro app keeps on your device, and why.
Office screens and SmartCabPro desk (web)
- sign-in session tokens, so you stay signed in;
- a caller-ID desk key that links this computer to the company's caller-ID pop-ups;
- a note that you accepted the terms;
- theme and guided-tour settings;
- window and panel positions.
Driver app
- the car key and sign-in code, so the app stays signed in to its car;
- device and install identifiers;
- language, theme, and ringtone;
- favourite zones and your chosen navigation app;
- update and "still connected" markers that help the app stay current and online.
On Android, your ringtone choice is also kept in the app's own settings storage, so a trip offer can still ring when the app is closed.
Passenger app
- your phone number, name, and sign-in token;
- your profile photo;
- language;
- saved Home and Work addresses;
- trips you chose to hide;
- the code of the taxi company you are connected to;
- an install identifier;
- your notification setting.
SmartCabPro website
- a marker showing that a demo request was sent from this browser.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the web app keeps a web push subscription and a small background script (a "service worker") in your browser, and the iPhone and Android apps keep a push token from Apple or Google. These are used only to deliver notifications.
Clearing this information
Signing out removes your sign-in details (and, in the passenger app, your phone number, sign-in token and photo), but saved places and preferences stay on the device. To remove everything, clear the site data in your browser or the app data in your phone's settings, or uninstall the app. Clearing it signs you out. A driver phone that is cleared must be linked to its car again. When a driver phone is unlinked from its car, the app signs out of that car and removes the car key and sign-in code from the phone. Your own phone settings, such as language, ringtone, and navigation app, stay.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some outside services touch your browser or device when you use SmartCabPro services:
- Supabase — our cloud database and sign-in service. The apps connect to it directly, so it receives your IP address, and the sign-in tokens kept on your device come from it.
- Google — Google Maps shows the maps on dispatch screens and in the passenger app, and may set its own cookies. Google also looks up addresses you type. Our main website page uses Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
- Stripe — when a taxi company manages its SmartCabPro subscription billing, it does so on pages hosted by Stripe, where enabled. Those pages may set Stripe's own cookies. Ride card payments in the apps are not currently offered. No Stripe code runs on SmartCabPro's own pages.
- OpenStreetMap — sends map images, and is a backup for address lookup. It receives your IP address when it does.
- Mapbox — road routes and address lookup. It receives your IP address and the address being searched.
- Twilio — office staff who make or take calls in the browser use Twilio's calling software.
- Netlify — hosts our websites and web apps.
- Capgo — the update component inside our iPhone and Android apps. It may send basic technical update information (an app-generated device identifier, app ID, operating system, and app version) to Capgo.
None of these services is used to place advertising cookies through SmartCabPro. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policies.
5. Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to:
- view cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block cookies;
- receive notifications before cookies are stored.
Disabling certain cookies may reduce the functionality of SmartCabPro services.
6. Changes
SmartCabPro may update this Cookie Policy from time to time.
